SIEA School is a W/E supplementary school that runs on Sundays at Alderbrook School, Blossomfield Road, Solihull, B91 1SN. It offers 3 hours of teaching at 9:45, 10:35, and 11:25, with an assembly at the end and Zuhr prayers (in winter). Students leave at 12:30.
The schedule includes:
- 1 hour of Islamic Studies (15 levels, to provide the each age group with knowledge that suit that age)
- 1 hour of Quran reading, Hifz, and Tajweed (17 levels, depending on the ability and past knowledge)
- 1 hour of language studies from beginners to GCSE level (either Arabic with 12 levels, Urdu with 9 levels, or Bangla with 2 levels)
SIEA School is a Muslim Sunni school and teaches children Islam according to the Hanafi, Shafi’i, Hanbali, and Maliki madhahib, in addition to the Quran, Arabic, Urdu, and Bangla languages. Once students become teenagers, they will also be taught about various Islamic groups such as Jafari (Shia), Wahhabi, Muslim Brotherhood, Sufis, and Salafis. They will learn how these groups are perceived in relation to mainstream Islam as understood by “Ahlul-Sunnah-Wal-Jama’ah” (mainstream Sunni Muslims).
